Dr Jayde Kunst (BVSC (Hons) )
Jayde graduated, with honours, from The University of Melbourne Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2005. She spent a number of years in a mixed practice/emergency clinic treating all types of large and small animals at all times of the day and night. To further develop her passion for small animal medicine and surgery, Jayde spent the next 7 years working in a small animal veterinary hospital.
We were lucky to have Jayde join our team in 2015. She brings with her a wealth of experience in small animal medicine and surgery, including emergency medicine.
Jayde enjoys camping with her husband and two young children. When not at work, she divides her time between running around with her kids and looking after her menagerie of animals. To date, Jayde has 3 fish- Pete, Spot and Sophie, 2 cats- Jasper and Jax, 1 dog- Hank, 4 Alpacas- Sunny, Donatello, Martyr and Frosty, 2 Cows- Ditto and Darla, 4 Hens- Blackie, Upsy Daisy, Dora, Toffee, 8 chicks, 1 Rooster- Bruce
Dr Stephanie Umina (BSc, DVM)
New Graduate Veterinarian
Steph graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science (2012) and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and started at Fountain Gate later that year. During her time at university, she was secretary of the Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and volunteered after hours in the Equine department. She also spent time at the RSPCA studying veterinary behaviour and Melbourne Animal Cancer Care studying chemotherapy and cancer treatment. Her research papers include a study on genetic disorders in Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a study on prophylactic gastropexies in large breed dogs.
Her veterinary interests include emergency medicine, small animal reproduction and veterinary behaviour. Steph has two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and enjoys going on long road trips with them. Her pets are regular donors at the Canine Blood Bank.
She has a love of photography, with a special interest in photographing pets and wildlife. Her favourite animals are tigers.
Senior Veterinary Nurse and Practice Manager
Maddie began working at FGVC in 2007 after completing her Certficate 2 & 3 in animal studies at Sunraysia Institute of TAFE in Mildura. She began as a part time, trainee nurse and after 4 years was promoted to full time Head Nurse & Practice Manager.
Maddie enjoys all aspects of nursing from administration and client education through to surgical nursing. She is very committed to ensuring all patients & owners visiting the clinic have a stress free, comfortable & pleasant experience & receive the best service possible.
Maddie has a keen interest in post operative rehabilitation & physiotherapy and is currently undertaking a course to become certified in Canine Remedial Massage & Rehabilitation, which she hopes will be a great benefit to our patients when she can put these new skills into practice.
Outside of work Maddie enjoys spending time with her animals, riding, going to the footy to support the Bombers, movies & spending time with her family.

Kat has been working as a veterinary nurse since 2013 and completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing with the Australian College of Applied Animals Studies in 2015. She is the clinic’s “Crazy Cat Lady”. Kat lives with her three cats, two rabbits Cookie and Whiskey, and her fish. Kat has recently purchased her first home and hopes to soon add a Welsh Cardigan Corgi to her little menagerie.
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)
Ashlee has been working as a veterinary nurse for five years. She completed her Cert IV in 2015 at Federation Training. Her hobbies include basketball, camping and spending time with her friends and family.
Ash currently lives with her rottweiler Mac and an ex-FGVC resident, Mumma Cat.
Student Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)
Nicole started working at the Petbarn 5 years ago and has been working at the Fountain Gate Veterinary Clinic for two years. She is currently studying her certificate IV in veterinary nursing at Boxhill Institute. Outside of work, she enjoys playing netball and spend time with friends and family.
She has two fur babies at home, a 9 year old DSH named Smokie & a 8 year old red heeler named Millie. Nicole loves all animals big and small but her favourite would have to be an elephant!
